Two case studies on Two TV Drama.
Parades End.
Originally a tetralogy by the author Ford Madox Ford, now taken into TV Drama during the Original British TV Drama season on BBC. This drama lasted five episodes and lived up to the expectations of four books.
What's it about?
Parades End is based during the first world war and it follows the life of "the last Tory" who is a brilliant, smart government statistician from a wealthy family who owns acres of land, who ends up serving in the War by his own choice. Christian Tietjens lives the life that everyone else expects him to lead, he marries a wealthy, but untrustworthy Sylvia, who produces a child that may or may not be his. Despite his truthfulness and loyalty towards his wife, he falls into a trap of real love with a beautiful and high spirited suffragette named Valentine.
The episodes follow the life and the twisted love triangle of Tietjens when he enters the war zone, Sylvia's betrayal towards her husband, but desperately convinces him to love her and Valentines attempt to keep Tietjens heart which doesn't belong to her.

| Benedict Cumberbatch and Rebecca Hall on low grounds |
This TV Drama was only suppose to be a one of series so it will not be expected for another follow up. However I am looking forward to Benedict showing his face on my wide screen TV again.
Franchise and Grossing.
The only franchise that I could find are the books with a different cover and the series in DVD that sells in shops for around £11. Parades End succefully made 3.5 million viewers to tune it to see the first episode on BBC2 on the 24th August 2012, it ended up resulting to being BBC2's biggest drama in many years.
I couldn't find the grossing of this TV Series, but my estimation would be around £6,000 or more.
